Sunrise Luxury Living

Houston-based Sunrise Luxury Living, LLC was formed in 2007 with its purpose to (a) identify opportunities to develop, acquire and/or invest in apartment properties, (b) develop apartment properties on behalf of third party investors, and (c) manage and operate apartment properties on behalf of third party investors in the Western United States. The Sunrise Luxury Living team has over 50 years of collective experience in acquiring, developing and building luxury real-estate projects. Sunrise Luxury Living is led by Jim Hinton, who has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate and is an affiliate of Sunrise Company, based in Palm Desert, California.

Jim Hinton

Jim Hinton is the Managing Principal of Sunrise Luxury Living and has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate, focusing exclusively on multifamily assets for over 30 years. Before starting Sunrise Luxury Living, Mr. Hinton was the Senior Vice President of Real Estate Investments at Camden Property Trust from 1995 to 2007. Mr. Hinton’s primary responsibilities included overseeing all facets of multifamily investments including, but not limited to, financing, development, acquisition and disposition of multifamily communities. Mr. Hinton received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in real estate finance from the University of Texas in 1978. He is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Texas and the State of California.

Senior Vice President

Bob Bussone

Bob Bussone has 25 years experience in commercial real estate with a proven track record of maximizing property cash flows and creating long-term value. Prior to starting with Sunrise Luxury Living, Mr. Bussone served as Vice President of Real Estate Investments with Camden Property Trust for 11 years. He was responsible for overseeing all facets of multifamily investments, which included sourcing both acquisition and development opportunities. Additional responsibilities included handling site selection and layout, defining design criteria, and completing initial cost estimates and planning. He coordinated the approval of all federal, state and local land-use approvals which required interfacing with local planning, operating, finance, and legal organizations in order to meet local requirements while creating positive relationships with community and civic leaders. In total, he has developed over 4,500 units with densities ranging from 20 units per acre to 150 units per acre. Mr. Bussone received his Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Finance with a second concentration in Real Estate and Urban Land Development from the University of Texas at Austin. He resides in Southern California with his wife and two sons.

Senior Vice President

Ken Hauser

With over 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Ken Hauser has re-joined the Sunrise Company as Vice President of Construction in 2013 to manage the development/construction of multifamily communities for Sunrise Luxury Living. Mr. Hauser started his construction career while attending classes at the University of Texas as a superintendent for a Houston based company building apartments. After spending eight years in Austin, Texas working on multifamily communities and general contracting, Mr. Hauser moved back to Houston and was employed by the Finger Company in 1991, a national developer/builder of multifamily assets. During his seventeen year tenure at the Finger Company, Mr. Hauser oversaw the completion of community rehabilitations, management capital improvements and new construction. For the last sixteen years, Mr. Hauser managed new construction projects in Florida, Massachusetts, Texas and California, completing fifteen projects and over 4,000 luxury units. Mr. Hauser worked with the Sunrise Company in 2008 and then joined Grayco Builders in 2010 as Vice President of Construction and worked on five projects in Houston and Austin.

William Bone

William Bone founded Sunrise Company in 1962 and is Chairman of the Board of Sunrise Company. He is a nationally recognized expert in resort residential, hotel and recreation development having developed 12 country club communities, built over 20 golf courses, constructed more than 15,000 homes, built two resort hotels and developed numerous office buildings, shopping centers and commercial hotels. He is frequently sought as a speaker on how to successfully design, develop and market these types of real estate projects. Born in Bakersfield, California, he received a B.A. in economics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from Harvard University Graduate School of Business Administration. He has served as a Director/Trustee of the Building Industry Association/Greater Los Angeles Chapter; Stanford Club of Los Angeles; World Vision, Inc.; Fuller Theological Seminary; Eisenhower Medical Center; Dunn School; Bighorn Research Institute; College of the Desert Endowment Campaign for Educational Excellence; Los Angeles Music Center; La Quinta Girls and Boys Club; Friends of the Bob Hope Cultural Center; Marshall Industries; Coachella Valley School District Foundation, Palm Desert Foundation; Bob Hope Chrysler Golf Classic; the University of California Riverside Foundation; Vice Chairman of the Urban Land Institute and Chairman and Founder of the Coachella Valley Friends of the University of California. In 2003, Mr. Bone received the “Legends” Award from the National Association of Homebuilders. In 1992 he was inducted into the California Building Industry Association Hall of Fame and also received the College of the Desert’s Alumni Association Hall of Fame Award for community leadership. In June 1991, Mr. Bone was honored by the Desert Area, Riverside County chapter of the Building Industry Association (BIA) for his extraordinary contribution to post-secondary educational opportunities for the Coachella Valley residents. In addition to being selected 1991 Citizen of the Year by the Boy Scouts, Mr. Bone was awarded the Palm Springs Life Magazine’s Builder of the Decade in 1988.
