President & Chief Executive Officer

Kevin Hammett

Mr. Hammett was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of Regency on January 1, 2012. In his role, Mr. Hammett has global responsibility for the strategic direction of Regency, its affiliates and partnerships for the future while continuing to own, acquire, and operate retail properties in Regency’s target market areas. Mr. Hammett joined Regency in July, 2007 as Vice President of Accounting/Finance and Chief Financial Officer. He was responsible for the accounting and finance functions of Regency while serving as an officer of the company and on its Executive Management Committee. Prior to joining Regency, Mr. Hammett obtained significant international business experience with the joint responsibility of serving as Executive Vice President, General Manager, and Board member for SMC Pneumatics (Canada) Ltd. and Chief Financial Officer, Secretary/Treasurer, and Board member of SMC Corporation of America, a pneumatic component manufacturer. Throughout his 20+ year career, Mr. Hammett has also served in financial management positions with Fortune 500 companies in the financial services and distribution industries. In 1990, he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Indiana and holds professional designations as a Certified Public Accountant, a Certified Management Accountant, and a Certified Global Management Accountant. Mr. Hammett also holds professional designations in real estate as a Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) and a Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS). Mr. Hammett is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, Urban Land Institute, and NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association. In 2014, Mr. Hammett joined the Board of Managers of Regency Consolidated Residential in Champaign, Illinois.

Dennis Riffert

Mr. Riffert has managed the direction and leadership of accounting and IT functions for Regency since 2008. Additionally, he serves as the Treasurer for the Board of Managers of Regency Commercial Associates LLC. Mr. Riffert received both his Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration from University of Evansville and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He is affiliated with the American Institute of CPAs, Indiana CPA Society and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Prior to joining Regency, Mr. Riffert held the position of Controller at Atlas Van Lines, Inc. He has nearly 35+ years of accounting management experience with companies in the transportation and insurance industries.

Ms. Ellis serves as Director of Human Resources and Administration, as well as Corporate Secretary to Regency. She joined Regency’s accounting department in 1977 and has served in various functions of accounting over the years.

Vice President, Acquisitions and Business Management

Jeffrey Howell

Serving as the Vice President of Acquisitions and Business Management at Regency Properties, Mr. Howell provides the strategic direction and leadership for all acquisitions and ensures exceptional management of the day-to-day activities associated with properties owned and managed by Regency Properties, including long-term planning. Mr. Howell joined Regency Properties in January, 2004. As a seasoned executive and entrepreneur, Mr. Howell has over 24 years of experience in the real estate industry. Prior to joining Regency, Mr. Howell served as a Key Account Manager and Technical Service Manager, among many other managerial positions for Vectren Corporation, a Fortune 1000 leading energy delivery corporation in Indiana and Ohio. During his time with Vectren, Mr. Howell founded Midwest Property Management Inc., a property management company focused on the management of residential and commercial real estate. Mr. Howell received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Supervisions from Purdue University, a Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Evansville, and an Executive MBA from the University of Evansville. Mr. Howell has also earned the designations of Certified Shopping Center Manager (CSM) and Certified Energy Manager (CEM). He is professionally affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers, a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Indiana, and he holds a general contractor’s license. Mr. Howell serves on a number of Boards of Directors and is a dedicated committee member for many local organizations. Most notably he is a member of the advisory board for the University of Evansville Schroeder Family School of Business; a Board Member for the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana; a Member of the Downtown Alliance Investment Goal team for downtown Evansville; a committee member for the Newburgh Young Life; Treasurer for Bible Baptist Fellowship Church; as well as a Board Member for the Property Owners and Managers Association of Evansville.

Vice President, Development and Leasing

James Wittman

Mr. Wittman is responsible for the strategic direction of the development, leasing and marketing of all Regency holdings. In addition, Mr. Wittman oversees the leasing and potential redevelopment of new acquisitions. Prior to joining Regency in 2000, Mr. Wittman spent five years running a company that owned retail establishments in several states, and he was a stockbroker preceding that. Mr. Wittman holds professional designations in the real estate industry as a Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS) and earning the prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) title. Mr. Wittman is professionally affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for which he has been a contributor on numerous panels, led round-table discussions, and also served as the organization’s Indiana Operations Chair from 2008 – 2011. Mr. Wittman has held various positions with the Indiana Chapter of CCIM as well, including President in 2013. In an effort to give back to his community, Mr. Wittman serves on various not-for-profit boards, including Habitat for Humanity and Junior Achievement of Southwest Indiana, for whom he has been elected to be the Chairman of the Board for 2015 – 2017. Mr. Wittman is a 1988 graduate of Indiana University Bloomington, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics.
