Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH)

The Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing (OCCH) is a nonprofit financial intermediary based in Columbus, Ohio. Originally created by the Ohio Housing Finance Agency in 1989, OCCH is now an independent nonprofit organization with its own board of directors. Its mission is "to cause the construction, rehabilitation, and preservation of affordable housing in Ohio." OCCH's core activity is raising private capital from corporations for investment in affordable housing developments utilizing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit Program. As a "syndicator" of these tax credit transactions, OCCH performs long-term asset management and related activities for its investors, developers, and property managers. OCCH has raised over $3 billion in private capital and invested in over 33,500 units of affordable housing in over 675 developments. OCCH has a lending arm, the Ohio Capital Finance Corporation (OCFC), which offers products such as predevelopment and acquisition loans to enable affordable housing development. Since its creation in 2002, OCFC has made over 290 loans totaling $125 million in production to assist in the creation, rehabilitation and/or preservation of more than 15,000 affordable housing units.

Daniel Slane

Mr. Slane is the founder of the Slane Company which developed 90 shopping centers and related commercial buildings in 12 states. The company also owns and operates five other companies in telecommunications, waste, lumber and ethanol with offices and operations around the world. Mr. Slane is the former Chairman of The Ohio State University Board of Trustees and the former Chairman of the University Hospital Board of Trustees. He currently serves on the board of HBNA Financial Corporation in Pickerington, Ohio.

Susan Weaver

Ms. Weaver is Executive Director and founder of Community Housing Network (CHN), a nonprofit corporation which has developed, owns and/or manages over 1,200 scattered-site supported housing units rented to people with mental illness, addiction disorders, or histories of homelessness. The agency is the primary provider of supportive housing for the Alcohol Drug and Mental Health (ADAMH) Board of Franklin County, and is a partnering agency of the Community Shelter Board in the nationally recognized Rebuilding Lives Program aimed at ending chronic homelessness in Columbus and Franklin County, Ohio. Ms. Weaver is a member of the board of the Joint Columbus Franklin County Housing Advisory Board, Franklin County Community Development Advisory Committee, and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Cincinnati Affordable Housing Advisory Council.

Thomas Loos

Mr. Loos was employed for 34 years by a regional CPA firm headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio and was elected to the partnership in 1980. He served on the management committee of the firm from 1995 to 2005 and was responsible for implementation of the firm's time and billing software system, oversight of all accounting functions, and the financial reporting of the firm. In addition to various firm administrative functions, Mr. Loos maintained a significant client accounting and tax practice with specific emphasis for clients in the real estate and construction industries. Early in his career, Mr. Loos served as the Chief Financial Officer of a diversified real estate developer in the Cleveland area. A 1972 graduate of John Carroll University, he was a member of the Ohio Society and the American Institute of CPA's until his retirement in June 2009. He currently serves as Treasurer of the Ohio Housing Council and is a past member of the Midwest Assisted Housing Management Association and the Construction Financial Management Association.

Robert Weiler, Sr.

Dr. Weiler serves as chairman of the board for The Robert Weiler Company, a developer of subdivisions, apartments, offices and industrial complexes in central Ohio. Prior to that, he served as an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University, Franklin University, and Capital University Law and Graduate School. With both his MAI and SREA designations, Dr. Weiler has served as chapter president of both organizations, now known as the Appraisal Institute. He is a past president of the Columbus Board of Realtors, member of the Society of Real Estate Counselors, and served as a director of the National Association of Realtors.

Jeanne Golliher

Ms. Golliher has served as President and CEO of the Cincinnati Development Fund since July 1998, following 16 years in community lending and advocacy as Vice President of Community Development for KeyBank. The Cincinnati Development Fund is a nonprofit lending consortium and certified Community Development Financial Institution that underwrites and services community development real estate loans that result in the creation or preservation of affordable housing or revitalization of urban communities. Ms. Golliher serves on numerous community boards and organizations, including the Hamilton County Development Corporation; Hamilton County Cabinet of Economic Advisors; Hamilton County First Suburbs Housing Task Force; Greater Cincinnati Local Initiative Support Corporation, Secretary-Treasurer for the Homesteading and Urban Redevelopment Corporation; Treasurer for The Woodward Trust; and member of the PNC Community Partners Advisory Board.

Dennis Guest

Mr. Guest began his career with the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) in 1986 and recently retired as its Executive Director. CMHA is authorized to provide Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) for approximately 12,500 families in Franklin County. These programs allow for the distribution of over $77 million to rental property owners in the county. With a $20 million operating budget, CMHA owns and/or manages 3,147 public and private apartments. Additionally, in a partnership with eight other Ohio Housing Authorities and a private company, CMHA serves as Contract Administrator for 58,000 Section 8 project-based housing units throughout the state of Ohio and 6,100 Section 8 project-based units in Washington, D.C. He serves on several boards: Funders Collaborative of the Community Shelter Board; Joint Columbus and Franklin County Housing Advisory Board; Housing Vision Council of United Way; and President of the Assisted Housing Services Corporation.
